From Monday 9th December: 45-minute Driving Assessments, times to be confirmed

This Waka Kotahi (NZTA) approved course is designed to increase your hazard awareness, learning to identify hazards and verbalise them to the instructor. 

When drivers, who hold a restricted licence, successfully complete the course they can apply to Waka Kotahi to reduce the time needed before taking their Class 1 Full Licence test. This can reduce time by:

• 6 months for a driver aged under 25 years.
• 3 months for a driver aged 25 years or over

The course is made up of four, two-hour, interactive group sessions in a class setting. Each session must be completed in sequential order, with a logbook provided to each attendee.  Those who complete all four sessions and the logbook will then finish the course by completing a 45-minute driving assessment. This assessment is the equivalent of the Class 1 Full Licence Test.

For each session you need to bring:

• Your NZ restricted driver licence (Class 1)
• A snack and drink, as you cannot leave the premises during the course.  
• A pen

​A logbook will be supplied at the first session and this will need to be brought to each session.
